Usain Bolt urges Man United boss Jose Mourinho to snap him up and make him world's fastest footballer
The Jamaican sprint legend is determined to make it as a top-flight player and used the world premiere of the movie I Am Bolt to plea for a shot at glory.
The world's fastest man Usain Bolt has urged Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to snap him up as he looks to switch lanes and become a football star.
Speaking at the world premiere of the movie I Am Bolt, Usain Bolt said he is looking forward to Mourinho "giving me a call".
The nine-times Olympic champion was in good spirits as he joined his closest friends, parents and fellow sports stars on the red carpet at London's Leicester Square Odeon.
The filmmakers were given unique behind the scenes access to the global superstar as they followed him for over two years leading up to the 2016 Rio Games in order to make the movie.
The Jamaican legend will make his athletics farewell in London at the the 2017 World Championships next summer.
He has already lined up a pre-season training stint with German giants Borussia Dortmund next year and the 30-year-old is determined to use his sparkling pace to forge a new career in top-flight football.
But Bolt is a Man United fan and he has previously outlined his desire to play for the Red Devils. He said: "For me, if I could get to play for Manchester United, that would be like a dream come true. Yes, that would be epic."
And when asked at the film premiere whether he had been approached by Old Trafford boss Mourinho, Bolt joked: "Not yet. Hopefully he'll call me and see what's going on. I'm really excited about that."
